remove wrinkles from curtains and drapes

When dealing with drapes and curtains, consulting the label for fabric care instructions is paramount. If the label advises dry cleaning, entrusting the task to a professional drapery service ensures optimal wrinkle removal and preservation of the fabric's integrity. Alternatively, if dry cleaning isn't specified, a quick application of water can expedite the wrinkle removal process

Follow these 4 ways to remove those wrinkles from Drapes and Curtains!

#1 - Washing Machine & Dryer

Washing machine and dryer – first, use a gentle cycle, short cycle to wash the drapes. Remove drapes or curtains from washing machine and place them in the dryer. Set the dryer for a cool or permanent press cycle. A good idea to add small towels so the curtains won’t bunch together and wrinkle.

#2 - Only Dryer

Dryer – You can also put the drapes and curtains inside the dryer (without washing them first) with a wet or damp towel using a delicate or permanent press cycle.

#3 - Fabric Steamer

Fabric Steamer – After installing the drapes and curtains on a rod, fill fabric steamer with water. After the water gets heated, slowly move the fabric steamer over the drapes. Best to work from bottom to top. Repeat process if necessary. If you still see wrinkles, steam from the underside of the fabric. Do not place the nozzle of the steamer directly on delicate fabrics such as velvet or silk.

#4 - Iron

Iron – Use low setting to iron away the wrinkles. However, for more stubborn wrinkles, use a cloth over the fabric side of the drapes or curtains if you need to use a high setting. You could also spray water over the fabric and gently iron on low setting to smooth out the wrinkles.
